AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme 2024

Chief Minister Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme with a view to provide financial assistance to students who belong to poor economically weaker backgrounds. By applying under this scheme, they will get a scholarship approved by the Government. With this amount of benefit, they can pay their education fees without facing any financial difficulty.

Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme has been launched under the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. Under this scheme, meritorious students from a poor background will be granted scholarships so that they will be able to continue their higher education by paying their education fees. The scholarship amount will be transferred to the bank account of their parents.

Objectives of Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme AP 2024

The foremost objective of launching the Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme is to provide financial aid to those students who have been suffering from financial instability due to which they are not able to pay their education fees. To those students, the government will provide scholarships directly transferred to their parent’s bank accounts.

Another objective of launching the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme is to support meritorious students for pursuing higher education/studies from poor backgrounds people so that they can fulfil their dreams as well as their career aspirations. The amount of scholarship will be transferred to the bank accounts of their parents.

Budget Of Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

For the successful implementation of this scheme, Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 4000 crores. This amount of budget has been directly transferred by the Chief Minister. With this amount, about 14 lakhs of students will be able to get their scholarships transferred by the mode of Direct Benefit Transfer.

First Installment Of AP Vidya Deevena Scheme

Chief Minister Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has released the second instalment on 19^th April 2021. Around Rs. 67145 Crores have been approved by the government for the 1^st instalment. 10.88 lakhs of the students have been got their benefit under the first instalment. Chief Minister has promised to give the amount of benefit in 4 instalments.

Second Installment Of AP Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme

The second instalment has been released by the Chief Minister on 29^th July 2021. Around 10.97 lakhs of students have been able to get scholarships transferred to their respective bank accounts. For benefiting these no. of beneficiaries, Rs. 693.81 crores have been disbursed by the Government. Scholarships will be used to eradicate poverty to a great extent.

About 96 Lakhs Of Students Got Benefit

Government has allocated Rs. 56.96 crores of a budget by conducting video conference from Tadepalli district. Under this sanctioned budget, around 96,403 have been able to get the scholarships transferred to their parent’s bank accounts by the mode of Direct Benefit Transfer. These students belong to the Visakhapatnam district and have got their scholarships.

Motivation For Higher Education

By launching this scheme, Government of Andhra Pradesh is motivating each student from the economically weaker section for continuing and maintain their further studies in spite of facing financial problems. After getting the amount of scholarship, students can invest their money in choosing the desired course for their higher education.

Some Important Guidelines

There are some important guidelines that have been released by the government regarding this scheme: –

Amount of scholarships will be released by the Higher Education Commission.
Students will be exempted from paying any fees rather than the fees decided by the Government.
Biometric attendance will be conducted for measuring the presence of students.
Aadhar will be linked with the biometic attendance.
Annual attendance of the student must be above than 70%.
Private students or those students who are pursuing courses by distance learning will not be applicable for this scheme.
This scheme is not eligible for private and open distance learning students.
Students securing NRI quota will be expelled from applying under this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

For applying under Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme, the applicant must possess the following criteria mentioned below:-

The applicant must be a permanent citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
This scheme is only applicable for the students.
The beneficiary must be a student.
Private and open learning students from the university will be considered ineligible for applying under this scheme.
Regular students can make their participation.
Family income of the student must be less than 2.5 lakhs.
Family member of the student must not be a pension beneficiary.
Sibling of a sanitation worker will also be given priority.
They must hold 25 acres of dry land and 10 acres of wet land.
Family member of the student must not be a income tax payer.
Students who have 1500 square feet of area in urban area will be eligible.
