Central Government launched PM DAKSH Yojana on 5^th August 2021 in order to provide employment opportunities among the applicants who fall under the economically weaker sections of the society, SC, ST and also a safai karamchari. PM DAKSH Yojana 2024

For providing skill up-gradation and training facilities among the SC/ST and backward classes applicants, PM DAKSH Scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The main focus of this scheme is to put up-gradation of their skill and to renew their entrepreneurship skills development. Around 50,000 people will be given training assistance.

Pradhan Mantri DAKSH Yojana has been launched under the Central Government with a view to providing training for skill development among the employees who belong to Scheduled Castes or Tribes and also doing a job as a safai karamchari. A target of covering 50,000 youth has been set up by the government.

Objectives of Pradhan Mantri DAKSH Yojana 2024

One of the foremost objective of launching the PM DAKSH Scheme is to provide skill up-gradation training and courses among the applicants who fall under SC or ST Categories.  After joining these skill up-gradation courses, their skills will be reached to a higher level. Various kinds of skill development courses will be offered to the applicants.

Another objective of launching PM Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana is to put emphasis on the up-gradation of skill that plays a crucial role in getting any kind of job whether it is based on technical skills or whether it is based on clerical jobs. The emergence of skills is a must for getting any kind of job.

Re-Skilling Program

By applying under this scheme, applicants will be able to get enrolled under the re-skilling program by which their skills will be recreated. The content of this program will be taught to them for 32 to 80 hours. Applicants will be able to get Rs. 2500 at the time of getting training under this program in the form of compensation for their loss of salary.

Short-Term Training Program

Short Term Training programs will be provided to the applicants for generating self-employment opportunities. The duration of this course will consist of 200 hours to 600 hours. It will take 6 months to teach the applicants. A minimum cost will be charged to the trainee for imparting this training program. The cost of the training program will be based on the normal cost norms.

Long-Term Training Program

Long-term training will consist of 1000 hours which will demand 5 months to 1 year from the trainee for getting training under this program. Normal charges will be charged for getting training under this program. Training will be given for that sector which has good demand in the market sector.  

Entrepreneurship Development Program

All those applicants will be considered eligible for getting training under this program who has already have received skill training under PMKVY and now are aiming to become an entrepreneur. It will take 80 to 90 hours of duration for teaching among the trainees. Around 10 to 15 days, trainees will become efficient in their respective fields.

Benefits of PM DAKSH Scheme 2024

The benefits of this scheme are as follows: –

• All those applicants who fall under the category of SC/ST/ backward classes will be provided with skill development courses.
• After applying under Pradhan Mantri DAKSH Yojana, skills of the applicants will be upgraded to a higher level.
• The stipend will be given to them at the time of imparting training course content.
• Applicants can enrol under any one of the offered skill development programs.
• Duration of the course may be varying from one type to another.
• Applicant can only enrol under any development program for one time.
• Around 50,000 applicants will be able to get benefits under PM DAKSH Scheme.
• Self-employment opportunities will also be introduced after the completion of skill development courses.

Features of Pradhan Mantri DAKSH Scheme 2024

The features of this scheme are as follows: –

• PM DAKSH Scheme is launched under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
• Union Minister has started this initiative.

• A target of covering 50,000 of youths has been fixed by the government under PM Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana.
• Rs. 3000 as a stipend will be given to the applicants opting for re-skilling training program.
• Rs. 100 for per day will be provided to the applicants carrying out the Entrepreneurship training program.
• Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500 in the form of stipend will be given to those applicants who have joined long-term or short-term training programs.
• The re-skilling course will consist of 1 month, entrepreneurship training program will be consisted of 15 days and long-term training will consisted of 1 year.

Eligibility Criteria

Those applicants who want to apply under this scheme have to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:-

• The applicant must ensure that he/she is the permanent citizen of India.
• Only those applicants will get training program that have posses the age limit from 18 to 45 years.
• SCs, STs and other backward classes’ applicants will be considered eligible.
• Annual income of the applicant must be less than Rs. 3, 00,000.
• Annual income of the applicant must be less than Rs. 1,00,000 if he/she belongs to the economically weaker sections of the society.
