PM WANI Scheme 2024
In order to provide WIFI facilities to the citizens of India, PM WANI Scheme has been launched under the Government of India. This scheme will bring improvement on the issues of internet connectivity as well as on the issues of network. Internet facilities will be provided at a reasonable cost.
Central Government has launched WANI Scheme for the allocation of WIFI and Internet facilities to public places so that the citizens of India will be able to access the internet services. Objectives Of Mantri WANI Scheme PM 2024
The foremost objective of launching the WANI Scheme is to resolve the issues of Internet connectivity as well as on the issues of network. WiFi will be allocated at the various states of India. The government is soon going to open Public Data Center throughout India. Now no one will have to face internet issues while surfing the internet.
Other objective of starting the Pradhan Mantri WANI Scheme is to provide opportunities among the school students and college students so that they will be able to join their online classes during this pandemic of coronavirus. There are many villages and places where there is an issue with internet connectivity.
PM-WANI Framework
PM WANI Scheme has been initiated by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji. For the successful implementation of this scheme, this scheme has been approved by the Union Cabinet. This scheme falls under the National Digital Communication Policy (NDCP). There are 3 elements of WiFi Hotspot:- PDO, PDOA, App Provider and Central Registry.
Opening Of Public Data Center
By installing WiFis at various places, the government will also open Public Data Center throughout India. No license will be required for opening these centres. This will resort the internet connectivity issues. It will also give a smooth internet connection for surfing the internet browser. This work will be done under the supervision of the Department of Telecom.
Installation Of WIFI And Hotspot
Government soon is going to install hotspots at various places in India. In order to maximize the connectivity of the network, hotspots will be set up on a large scale. In Delhi, 20 locations have been selected by the Government for allocating Broadband services. Active participation of 20 people will also be required who will buy WiFi Route and then install it.
Covered Places Of Delhi
As Delhi has been selected as one of the first for the installation of broadband, around 850 places of Delhi has been set up with hotspots. With this set up of hotspot facility, the internet will be provided to the citizens at a cheap and affordable cost. Students from low-income families will be able to continue their studies by surfing the internet.
Sum Of Rs. 4720 Crores
For the installation of hotspots and broadband services, an outlay of Rs. 4750 Crores has been spent by the Government. These hotspots have been installed first in Delhi State. An amount of Rs. 1000 will be provided to that person who will publicize this scheme. After the publication of this scheme, the applicant will be able to get Rs. 1000 provided by the Government.

Opening Of Public Data Centers In India
For the successful implementation of this scheme, Public Data Centers have been opened in India. Only after the establishment of hotspots, citizens will be able to access the internet facilities. The cost of surfing the internet will be low kept by the Government. For the selling of WiFi routers, a few people will be selected who will purchase these routers for installation.
Need Of Registration For Opening Public Data Center
For the opening, there is no need for a license, but registration is required. It has been made compulsory for the PDOA and providers to get registered with DoT Data Centers. The registration process must be completed within 7 days. Data Centers will not be opened if there is no registration done by the PDOA and providers.
Downloading Of App Is Must
Those applicants who want to take benefit underneath this scheme will require first to download the app of this scheme. After installing this app, they will have to submit their necessary details on it. Only after making registration on this app, applicants will be able to access the internet facility. They can also use this internet for net banking.
