WB Student Credit Card Scheme 2024

Student Credit Card Scheme has been launched under the State Government of West Bengal. Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has started this initiative. This scheme has been started especially for providing financial support to the student’s categories. A credit card will be issued to them after making registration under this scheme.

Mamta Banerjee has launched WB Student Credit Card Scheme with an aim to provide loans of Rs. 10 lakhs or above to those students who are studying in class 10^th. After applying under this scheme, they will be able to get applied for this scheme. The government will soon start to issue Credit Card to them under this scheme.

Objectives Of Student Credit Card Scheme 2024

One of the foremost objective of launching the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme is to provide financial support to the students so that they will be able to get higher education without having to face any financial difficulties.  Now the financial obstacle will not become an obstacle in the way of education.

Another objective of launching the Student Credit Card Scheme is to put emphasis on the development and enlargement of the employment rate among the young citizens of the state. After the successful implementation of this scheme, the unemployment rate among the unemployed citizens will get reduced.  Students can avail the loan of Rs. Up to 10 lakhs after getting their credit card.

Around 26,000 Students Have Got Benefit

It will be surprising for you to know that around 26,000 students have been registered their applications under this scheme, out of which only 25,847 students have been able to get benefit because they have fulfilled all the required criteria. Below is the shown analysis of this figure: –

• Male Candidates = 16,384
• Female Candidates = 9,461

Rs. 1355 Crores Of Budget Have Been Spent

For benefiting around 26 thousand applicants, the government has spent an amount of Rs. 1355 crores of budget. This budget has been approved by the WB government for providing loans to eligible applicants. But the applicant has to keep in mind that he/she will be expelled from applying under this scheme if he/she has already paid the fees of the education course.

Students Of Govt. Exams Will Be Applicable

Those applicants can also apply under this scheme to those who are preparing for the government or competitive examinations such as Neet, JEE and Civil Services. Special attention will be given to such kinds of students who want to pay the fees of the coaching for pursuing their higher studies. Loans for the future course will also be provided.

Amount Of Loan

Students can apply for this scheme for getting loans for paying their admission fee for that course under which they have taken admission. 10 lakhs of loans can be availed by the Students preparing for higher education. But this loan has to be repaid by the students in accordance with the interest rate charged by the lending institution.

Rate Of Interest

Students will have to repay the loan as per the allotted period of time. They will have to repay the amount of loan within paying the rate of interest which has been charged on it by the government authorities. Beneficiaries will have to pay 4% of the interest rate on the amount of loan which they are repaying.

Tenure For Repayment

Government has also made some limitations on the tenure which will be applicable for repaying the amount of loan that has been borrowed by the students from any authorized bank. The time period has been fixed by the government.  The student will have to repay the amount of the loan within a period of 15 years.

Form Of Financial Support

This scheme can be seen as a form of financial support which has been given by the Government of West Bengal to those students who can’t pursue their studies due to financial obstacles. • Maximum age limit of the applicant can be 40 years of age. Above than 40 years of age will be expelled from taking benefit under this scheme.
• Students of class 10^th will be considered eligible for applying under this scheme.
• Students preparing for government examinations will also be welcomed.
• Aspirants of National Level Competitive Examinations will be able to get loan.

• Now you will have to do administrator login.
• After login dashboard will be bring opened in front of you.
• Under dashboard, click on the application pending option.
• A new page will be appeared in front of you.
• MS Excel Sheet will be appeared on this new page which will show you all the pending application that has been pending.
• Click on the download button for downloading pending application.
• You can also view it by clicking on the view icon.
• After that a new page will be appeared where you can download any below shown documents : –
  • PAN
  • Aadhar Card
  • Address Proof of the co-borrower
  • Course fee details
  • Proof of admission of the applicant
• Then click on the button of application pending which is being shown under the dashboard.
• Now you have to click on the icon of sanction loan.
• Now either sanction loan or either reject loan as per your choice of requirement by clicking the required button.
• If you have click on sanction loan then a new page will be displayed on your screen where you will have to enter the amount of loan which you have to borrow. Entries must be in the words and numeric.
• Then upload the sanction letter after that click on the Submit option.
• If you have click on the reject loan option, then click on the cause of rejection from the shown drop down menu.
• Now you will have to give the parameters.
• After that click on the submit button.

Submission Of Institution Profile

The applicants will have to follow mentioned below steps for institution profile submission under this scheme:-

• First of all you will have to visit the official website of this scheme.
• On the homepage, click on the Administrator Login.
• Now enter all the asked details in it.

Process For Getting Approval Of Application By HED

The applicants will have to follow mentioned below steps for getting approval of the application by HED under this scheme:-

• For getting approval, you will need first to visit and open the official website of this scheme.
• Now you will be able to see the homepage.
• On the homepage, click on the administrator login button for getting login under the administrator portal by entering all the asked details in it.
• After login, click on the verify application button.
• Then click on the view application option.
