Narendra Modi Ji has launched Awas Scheme on 1^st June 2015 in order to provide pukka housing facilities to the citizens who belong to the poor and economically weaker section of the society and are living in kutcha houses. LIG and EWS categories of citizens will also be considered applicable for applying under this scheme.

PM Awas Yojana 2024

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been launched under the Government of India with an aim to provide affordable housing facilities to those people who don’t have any other living source rather than they are living in huts or kutcha houses. This scheme will put emphasis on providing loans at a low cost for the construction of houses.

Central Government has launched PM Awas Scheme in order to provide loans at a low cost so that the borrowers will be able to build their houses by availing of this loan facility. If you have already applied under this scheme, then you can check the list of beneficiaries of PMAY. Before availing of the loan facility, the applicant will need to check his/her name in the list.

Objectives of Awas Yojana

One of the foremost objective of launching the PM Awas Scheme is to construct pucca houses across India so that the problem related to living areas will be sorted. This scheme will put emphasis on providing pucca houses to those people who are living in kutcha houses or in the huts for their living hood.

Other objective of launching Awas Yojana is to provide loans at low cost so that the applicants after getting this amount of loan may be able to construct their houses at affordable rates and may also be able to buy houses for their living. A target of covering 2 crores of pucca houses across the country has been set up by the government.

Components of PMAY

There are 2 components of PM Awas Yojana are as follows: –

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) which is also known as (PMAY-U)
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) which is also known as (PMAY-R)

Distribution of Work

The distribution of work for providing pucca homes has been divided into 3 phases are as follows: –

Phase 1: – Working of providing loans to the eligible citizens was started from 1^st April 2015 to March 2017.
2nd Phase : – Phase 2 was started from the April 2015 to March 2019.
Phase 3: – Working of phase 3 has been started from April 2019 to March 2022.

It has been targeted to cover the remaining cities by providing pucca houses by 2022.

Allocated Budget For Constructing Houses

Union Cabinet has an approved budget of Rs. 43,922 crores for the construction of houses across the country among the poor sections of society. With this allocated budget, around 6,83,724 houses will be built for the poor peoples of urban areas. Central Government has given the commitment of giving financial assistance of Rs. 10,050 crores by April 2016.

Category Of Beneficiaries

There are some limitations that have been set up by the government on the category of beneficiaries who will be able to apply under this scheme. List of the beneficiaries who can apply under this scheme as per follows: –

Only above-mentioned applicants will be considered eligible for applying under PMAY within fulfilling the eligibility criteria based on the government guidelines.

Target Of House Construction

A new update has been received regarding the no. of houses which will be soon going to be constructed by the year 2022. Around 11,934 no. of houses will be constructed for the residents of Uttra Pradesh. This allocated target of house construction has been specially presented for the financial year of 2022.

Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs)

Rental Housing Complexes will be provided to the migrants from urban/poor/LIG categories of people who have been migrated due to covid-19 circumstances. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs will provide living complexes at affordable rates. Facilities included under this complex: –

Global Housing Technology

For the working of house construction, government has started the Global Housing Technology Challenge which aims to provide a box of innovative technologies which will prove to be very beneficial for the construction of the houses. As a part of this initiative, 6 lighthouse projects have been started across India; Indore, Rajkot, Chennai, Ranchi, Agartala and Lucknow.

Benefits Of PM Awas Yojana 2024

The benefits of this scheme are as follows: –

By applying under this scheme, government will provide loans at low costs among the poor residents of the India.
Around 2 crores of houses will be constructed by the year of 2022.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been extended to both the residents of urban as well as rural areas.

Now no one will have to live in the kutcha houses because of financial instability.

Preference will be given to the Differently abled persons and old citizen persons.

Features Of Pradhan Mantri Awas Scheme 2024

The features of this scheme are as follows: –

PM Awas Yojana has been launched by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji.
This scheme is also known as PMAY. This is the short form of this scheme.
Launching date of this scheme is 1^st June 2015.
This scheme was launched under the supervision of Government of India or Central Government.
Union Cabinet has also sanctioned the budget for this scheme.
There are 2 components of this scheme : –
- PMAY-U
- PMAY-R
Those people belong to LIG/EWS/MIG will be considered eligible for applying under Awas Scheme PM.
Under the implementation of this scheme, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has initiated Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) for urban/poor migrants.
Global Housing Technology will assist the house builders with their innovative construction technology for building houses.

Eligibility Criteria

For applying under PMAY, the applicant must possess the following criteria mentioned below:-

For LIG/EWS categories of people: –
- Annual income of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs.
- Female member must hold the co-ownership of the house.
- There must be a husband and wife in the family having unmarried sons/daughters.
For MIG categories of people: –
- The applicant must possess the annual income of Rs. 6 to 12 lakhs.
- Female member must hold the co-ownership of the house.
- MIG-I will be given 4% subsidy and MIG-II will be given 3% subsidy.
Area of the house
- There must be 120 square meters of area of the house for the categories of MIG-I.
- For MIG-II, 150 square meters of area of the house will be considered applicable.
The beneficiary must ensure that he/she doesn’t hold any homes in his/her name.
Only EWS or LIG category will be considered eligible for availing the loan facility for home renovation

Process To Apply Online Under PM Awas Yojana 2024

To apply online, the applicant will need first to visit and open the Official Website of this scheme.

Now you will be able to see the homepage of this site.
On the homepage, click on the Citizen Assessment Tab.
Then click on the Apply Online option.
Now click on the in Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) option.

Now you will redirect to a new page.
On this new page, enter you Aadhar number and name as per mentioned on your Aadhar card.
Now click on the check button.
Afterwards the application form will be appeared on your screen where you will need to enter all the asked details in it.

First of all you will need to visit the official website of this scheme.
On the homepage, click on the Search Beneficiary Tab.
Then click on the Search By Name Option.

The applicants have to follow mentioned below steps for editing the Application form under PMAY:-

For editing your application form, you will require to open and visit the official website of this scheme.
Now you will land on the homepage.
Click on the Citizen Assessment tab.
Then click on the option of Edit Assessment Form.

Enter your Assessment ID and Mobile no. and then click on the show button.
In this way you will be able to edit your assessment form.

Downloading Application Form

The applicants have to follow mentioned below steps for downloading the Application form under PMAY:-

For printing PMAY Application Form, visit and open the official website of this scheme.
Now click on the Citizen Assessment Tab.
Then click on the Print Assessment Option.

Now you have to make your selection for entry as per the shown options.

After filling the information, click on the Submit button.
Now click on the print button.

Checking Subsidy Calculator

On the homepage, click on the Citizen Assessment Tab.
Then click on the Subsidy Calculator option.

Now you will land on the new page where you will need to enter asked details in it.
After that click on the submit option.
Now you can check the calculated subsidy as per your entry.

Process To Download PMAY Mobile App

The applicants have to follow mentioned below steps for downloading PMAY Mobile app under this scheme:-

For downloading PMAY Mobile App, you will need first to visit the official website of this scheme.
Now you will be able to see the homepage of this site.
On the homepage click on the MIS Login Option.

After then you will land on the homepage where you need to enter your profile details for login: –

- Password
Then click on the Login Button.
After login a list will be shown on your screen out of which you have to click in the PMAY (U) option.
