PM Jan Aushadhi Yojana 2024

Central government has launched PM Jan Aushadhi Scheme with a view to providing 60-70 % less price of the medicinal drug for selling to the consumers. This scheme has been specially started for covering needy and poor citizens of the country so that they will get quality medicines at affordable prices.

Jan Aushadhi Yojana has been launched by our honorary Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji for providing discount offers on the purchase of medicines of the original brand. At least 60 to 70 5 of the less cost will be provided on the purchase of branded medicines. A target of opening 100 of Jan Aushadhi Kendras has been fixed by the Government.

Objectives Of PM Jan Aushadhi Yojana 2024

One of the foremost objective of launching the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Scheme is to provide qualitative medicinal drugs at affordable prices to the needy and poor citizens of the state. The whole expenditure on healthcare and medical care will be get reduced. This will put emphasis on providing cheap medicines to the consumers of the original brand.

Another objective of starting Jan Aushadhi Yojana is to provide financial assistance to the economically weaker sections of the society who does not get treatment due to the insufficiency of medicines that are required for their recovery from the disease. Insufficiency is done due to the high prices of the medicines that have been charged at the time of purchasing it.

60-70 %Less Price

By applying under this scheme, all the applicants will be provided 60 to 70 % of less prices as compared with the original price of the medicine which is being sold in the chemist shops. There will be an availability of generic medicine at lower prices so that consumers will be able to get quality medicine.

Opening Of Jan Aushadhi Centres

Within launching this scheme, government has kept an aim to open 100 no. of Jan Aushadhi Centers across India, so that the needy, poor and economically backward classes will be able to purchase quality medicines at reasonable prices without having to bear the burden of medicine charges. Through this opening of centres, the public will get aware of the availability of generic medicines at lower rates.

Margin On Sale Price

After the opening of Jan Aushadhi Centers, Government will allot 10% of the margin on the selling of medicines but it will depend upon the earnings of the person who have to earn after selling his medicines at the centre. 15% of the margin can also be given by the Government.

Jan Aushadhi Centers have been opened across the country.
Working hours of this center is from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Therapeutic medicines have also been sold.
They also sold some allied medical products.
Central Government has established BPPI (Bureau of Pharma Public Sector Undertakings of India) for supplying generic drugs.
For opening Jan Aushadhi Center, the applicant must be a B Pharma/ D Pharma degree holder as Pharmacist.
Individual entrepreneurs can also open their Jan Aushadhi Stores.

Financial Support Provide For Opening JAS

BPPI will provide mentioned below financial support to the owner of JAS:-

Rs. 1 lakhs for the reimbursement of furniture and fixtures.
Rs. 1 lakhs for purchasing medicines.
Rs. 50,000 for the reimbursement of computer, internet, printer and scanner, etc.
Government will provide 20% of trade margin included in MRP to the retailers.
Government will also provide credit facility for 30 days against postdated cheques.
