The Education Minister of Tamilnadu Mr KA Sengottayan has launched Free Tablet Computer Scheme with a motive to distribute 3 lakhs of smartphones, tablets and computers to the students who are pursuing classes from 6^th to 8^th. This scheme will especially launch for covering students from the financially backward classes. Tablets will provide them online education.

TN Tablet Computer Scheme has been launched under the Government of Tamilnadu. Education Minister has started this initiative for the students pursuing education from 6^th standard to 8^th standard. A target of providing 3 lakhs of tablets to the students has been fixed by the government. By applying under this scheme, students from the economically weaker section will get financial assistance.

Objectives Of Free Tablet Scheme TN 2024

The foremost objective of launching TN Free Tablet Computer Scheme is to provide educational opportunities to those students who belong to economically backward classes and can’t afford digital devices such as tablets, smartphones and computers for studying. A target of covering 3 lakhs of students has been set up by the Government.

Another motive of launching Free Tablet Computer Scheme is to distribute smartphones, tablets and computers among the students from the 6^th,7^th and 8^th standards so that they will be able to study online without having suffering from the pandemic of the Covid-19 virus. Around 80,000 blackboards will be replaced by smartboards.

Replacement Of Blackboards With Smart boards

Government of Tamilnadu has made a provision to distribute 3 lakhs of digital devices to the school students. Within this government will replace traditional blackboards with smart boards so that they can study online by accessing digital platforms. 80,000 blackboards will be replaced by 72,000 smart boards. Smart classes will soon be organized with the arrangement of smart boards.

Annual income of the family should not be above Rs. 2 lakhs.
There should be no backlog in the previous classes by the student.
